Our Twin conical screw barrels are designed to endure high wear, corrosion, and thermal stresses in plastic extrusion. Common materials include:

•Alloy Steel:

•38CrMoAlA: A nitrided steel favored for its strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Nitriding achieves surface hardness of HV850-1000.

•42CrMo: Used for high torque and durability.

•304 Stainless Steel: Chosen for corrosion resistance, ideal for processing corrosive materials like PVC.

•Bimetallic Coatings: Nickel-based or tungsten coatings enhance wear and corrosion resistance, especially for abrasive or corrosive polymers.

•Surface Treatments:

•Nitriding: Boosts surface hardness (HB280-320, HV920-1000) and wear resistance, with a depth of 0.45-0.80 mm.

•Chrome Plating: Reduces adhesion and corrosion, typically 0.025-0.10 mm thick.

•Molybdenum/Tungsten Coatings: Protect screw flights, extending lifespan for high-filler or regrind materials.
